The “Ani-Mate & Meet the Other” project involves a variety of creative workshops addressed to refugee children and students of elementary schools. It also entails diverse cultural events for adults and children aimed at raising the awareness of the local community about the refugee issue. The workshops and events will be provided without any cost for both the children and the adults, and the program’s costs will be covered by the START-Create Cultural Change scholarship program.

The following is the fundamental idea of “Ani-Mate & Meet the Other”: children are the most beneficial way to integrate adults and help them co-exist with the other (in this case, the refugee). In order to develop a relationship between the local society and the refugee children, the project aims to build coexistence between the two communities through informal education, i.e. diverse creative/artistic workshops, and, at the same time, through the enrollment and integration of the refugee children in the school system.
